Budgets

Each budget has its own donors, statuses and follow-up.

A budget is a group of funds, like General or Kingdom Builders. Each tracks its own donor life cycle, so every note fits the fund.

One family, two statuses

Givers to General since 2021. Last Sunday, their first gift to Kingdom Builders. GivFlow sends the Kingdom Builders welcome. They don't get the "new to our church" email.

The donor life cycle, per budget

Seven statuses. Tracked for you.

Every donor unit has a status in each budget. GivFlow updates it as gifts come in, and the flows use it to decide who hears what.

New

Gave to this budget for the first time.

Second

Came back for a second gift.

Active

Giving regularly to this budget.

Occasional

Gives now and then, not on a regular pattern.

Lapsed

Was giving, and has stopped. A pastoral opportunity.

Recovered

Lapsed, then came back.

Inactive

Excluded from follow-ups automatically.

About failed gifts

"Failed" isn't a budget status. It belongs to a single donation, and the failed gift flow handles it.

Its own follow-up

Five flows run per budget, so a first gift to Missions gets a Missions thank-you, not a "new to our church" email.

Joint donors counted once

Track by individual or joint donor unit, so one spouse giving for the first time isn't treated as new.

Its own report

See each budget's donors and statuses without exporting anything or building a spreadsheet.

Donor tiers

Donor tiers: see who's giving more, or less.

Within each budget, GivFlow places every giving unit in one of five tiers based on their trailing 12 months of giving, and tracks how that changes over time. You see who is moving up and who is slipping.

  • Set your own tier ranges

Flows that run per budget

Five flows follow each budget's donors.

Each one watches a budget's statuses and sends the note that fits, from your church, in your words.

Every note comes from your church, and every reply reaches a person.

  • Replies go to who you choose
Pick the reply-to person for each flow, like a pastor or your finance lead. Donors can always reach someone.
  • Unlimited senders
Create as many senders as you need, each with its own display name and signature.
  • Context before it sends
GivFlow reads giving history, budgets, pledges and donor status first, so each note fits the person.
  • Inactive donors are left out
Donors marked Inactive are excluded from follow-ups automatically.

Let GivFlow do the follow-up. You keep the relationships.

See what your church's giving is telling you, and what GivFlow would follow up on first. Fifteen minutes, no pressure.
