Refreshed: Donor Distribution Now Makes It Easier to See Who Is Carrying Your Ministry

There is a well-known principle in fundraising: a small percentage of your donors account for a disproportionately large share of your giving. Knowing exactly who those people are, and how much they are contributing relative to the rest of your congregation, is one of the most important things a stewardship pastor can understand about their ministry.

We have refreshed the Donor Distribution feature in GivFlow to make that picture clearer than ever.

What Is New

The updated Donor Distribution view now makes it simple to see how your top 5, 10, 20, or 50 percent of donors compare to the rest of your giving base in total dollars. At a glance, you can answer questions like: “What percentage of our total giving comes from our top 10 percent of donors?” The answer is often surprising, and it is always useful.

Beyond the cleaner percentage breakdown, we have added three new filtering options that make the feature significantly more flexible:

Date Range — You can now search across any custom date range, making it easy to compare giving patterns across different seasons, campaigns, or fiscal years. Want to see how your top donors behaved during last year’s summer slump versus the fall? Now you can.

Fund — Filter by a specific fund to see the distribution within a particular giving category. This is especially useful for churches running capital campaigns or special initiatives alongside their general fund.

Percentage Filter — Rather than being locked into preset breakpoints, you can now specify a custom percentage to see exactly where the line falls for your congregation.

Understanding your donor distribution is not just a data exercise. It is a pastoral and strategic tool.
